LUIGI FERRARI CLUB QUEBEC (also known as FERRARI CLUB QUEBEC) is a non-profit organisation which was founded in late 1990. The club organised its first event in 1991 and was incorporated as a non-profit company in 1995, under the name "Club Ferrari Québec".
We currently have an active membership of 48 members who reside in the Greater Montreal Area including municipalities as far away at St-Jérôme, Drummondville, Victoriaville and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
The prime objectives of our Club are:
1) Bring together friends and clients of Luigi Della Grotta (Luigi Sports Cars Ltd.), who was the sole Ferrari distributor for Canada appointed by Enzo Ferrari in 1961,
2) Promote the image of Ferrari and all that the marque represents: innovative designs and concepts for high performance automobiles,
3)Promote the respect and pride of ownership of finely manufactured automobiles and show the appreciation for the workmanship that has been put into the research, the design, the fabrication and the testing of Ferrari automobiles,
4) Be actively involved in returning to society a token of the gifts that God and life have bestowed upon all the Club members by organizing and participating in fund-raising events benefiting children.
We generally organise between 7 and 10 events per year which include at least 2 fund- raising ones. The funds that are collected go to such worthy causes as Hôpital Ste-Justine, Hôpital du Haut-Richelieu - Department of Paediatrics, Montreal Children’s Hospital, Quebec Society for Disabled Children, Shriners’ Hospital, Aide à la Jeunesse, Children’s Wish Foundation and other organisations benefiting children.
To date, we have been responsible in raising in excess of $650,000 for children’s causes. In 2004, our 3 fundraising events helped in raising a total of $60,000 (Hôpital Ste-Justine, Ophthalmology Dept - $20,000, Hôpital du Haut-Richelieu – Paediatrics Dept - $20,000, Aide à la Jeunesse - $20,000).
Our major events are generally termed "outings" where members partake in rally events, sightseeing excursions, Formula 1 race events, etc.
